Egypt manager Shawki Gharib has called 11 Europe-based players for the 2015 CAN qualifiers against Senegal and Tunisia. An 11-man list was led by routine inclusions like Chelsea forward Mohamed Salah, Basel midfielder Mohamed Elneny and Hull City wing-back Ahmed Elmohamady. Sporting Lisbon playmaker Shikabala was named despite lack of first-team football, along with teammate Rami Rabiea. Three more players from the Portuguese Liga were included in Nacional duo Ali Ghazal and Saleh Gomaa, in addition to Rio Ave hitman Ahmed Hassan 'Koka'. Fiorentina defender Ahmed Hegazi made the squad following a long-term injury, while Grasshopper striker Mahmoud 'Kahraba' and Basel winger Ahmed Hamoudi completed the list. Egypt play Senegal away on September 5, five days before hosting Tunisia in Group G.
