Zamalek suffered a 2-1 defeat at DR Congo's Vita Club in the opening match of the CAF Champions League group stage. Mubele Ndombe's 18th minute strike was replied to by Momen Zakaria 14 minutes from time, only for Emmanuel Ngudikana to hit the winner in the 80th minute. It is the first time for Zamalek to lose in this season's Champions League as the Whites conceded no goals before the quarter-finals. In the other Group A game, Hilal of Sudan edged Vita's Congolese rivals Mazembe 1-0 on Saturday. Zamalek's next game will be at home against Hilal later this month. VIDEOS Vita Club 2-1 Zamalek
