Egypt star Mohamed Salah scored a goal to help Basel come back from behind and claim a stunning 2-1 Champions League opening victory at Europa League holders Chelsea. Chelsea took a first-half lead through Brazilian midfielder Oscar as Salah drew level on 71 minutes before Swiss striker Marco Streller hit the winner 10 minutes later. As the first half headed to a goalless draw, Oscar put Chelsea ahead with a brilliant finish after being played in by Frank Lampard on the stroke of half time. Salah, who put in a lively display in the game before being substituted few minutes from the end, restored parity after being set up by Streller to slot a well-placed left-footed strike home. Streller then turned from provider to scorer when he headed Basel in front nine minutes from the end to secure a precious victory at Stamford Bridge. Basel, who were ousted of last season's Europa League semis at the hands of Chelsea, take on Bundesliga side Schalke in the Champions League a fortnight later.
