Basel manager Murat Yakin admitted that Mohamed Salah could sit out the Champions League trip to Maccabi Tel Aviv. The controversial story began as Basel knew they would visit Maccabi next month, with speculation that Salah could be reluctant to play in the Israeli city. While the Egypt ace said he is not sure about travelling with the rest of his teammates, Basel coach Yakin implied that his star winger will be left out if he wants. "Politically, I don't like to express myself, but if a player is not focused mentally, he'd better be left out," Yakin told Swiss daily Blick. "I think we have enough professionals in our squad to replace Salah." Up until now, Salah is the main subject of the saga as his compatriot Mohamed Elneny is still not involved. Both Egyptians are expected to be available when Basel host the Israelis next week.
