The CAF Champions League last eight were completed on Sunday, with South Africa's Orlando Pirates causing a major upset by ousting four-time winners Mazembe. Despite their 1-0 home win, DR Congo giants Mazembe were out after losing 3-1 in the first leg, sending the South Africans through to the group stage for only the second time. While Ahli and Zamalek claimed nervous wins over Bizertin of Tunisia and Ethiopia's Saint George, three North African teams waved goodbye to the competition. Tunisia's Setif were edged by Confederation Cup champions Leopards on penalties, following a 4-4 aggregate draw. Morocco's FUS Rabat lost on the away-goal rule to Sewe Sport of Ivory Coast, who made the group stage for the first time in their history. Algeria's JSM Bejaia lost 1-0 to last year's runners-up Esperance, while Angola's Recreativo do Libolo beat Enugu Rangers of Nigeria 3-1 to qualify. Cameroon's Cotonsport held on to a goalless draw at Stade Malien to qualify with a 3-0 win from the first leg.
