Performance of the week Hull City's Ahmed Elmohamady hit his second in three games, scoring the winner in the 2-1 victory against Blackburn. Elmo's Egypt teammate Geddo continued his impressive displays when he netted the opener against Rovers to make it three in four games. Abd-Rabou agony Hull's three match winning streak came to an abrupt end after the promotion hopefuls suffered a 4-1 defeat at Bolton, with Elmohamady playing full 90 minutes while Geddo was taken off on the hour mark. Ahmed Fathi remained as an unused sub for the second game on the trot as he last featured in the 1-0 victory over Charlton as a 56nd minute substitute. Adam El-Abd enjoyed a good week with Brighton, helping his side to back-to-back wins over Cardiff and Burnley in the Championship. Another player to hit the target was youngster Ahmed Hassan 'Koka' who netted Rio Ave's sole goal in the 1-1 Portuguese league draw with Braga before being sent off late in the game for an alleged cynical foul on an opponent. Former Egypt and Ahli full-back Ahmed Abou-Mosallam scored a lucky goal for Lierse to help the Belgians to a vital 3-1 victory over relegation rivals Beerschot, bagging his side's second of the night. Center-half Ahmed Saied 'Ouka' and midfielder Mostafa Shebeita also featured for the whole 90 minutes for Lierse as striker Mohamed Al-Gabbas came on late in the game. The victory took Hany Ramzy's side out of the bottom two with 23 points as they have two decisive games remaining. Unlike his compatriots, an Egyptian to suffer a frustrating night was Al-Nasr' midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabou, who missed a penalty as the Saudi side slumped to a 4-2 shootout defeat to bitter rivals Hilal in the Crown Prince Cup final. Mohamed Abou-Treika could not continue impressing for Bani Yas after being forced out of the 3-1 league win over Al-Shaab due to a hamstring complaint. Elsewhere, Egypt star Mohamed Salah featured in Basel's 1-1 Europa League draw at Ukraine's Dnipro to help the Swiss champions qualify for the last 16 with a 3-1 aggregate win, before being substituted by Egypt teammate Mohamed Al-Nenni late in the game. The substitution was reversed in the following goalless home draw with league leaders Grasshopper with Salah coming on to replace Al-Nenni in the 55th minute as Basel missed the chance to close on the gap to within one point. In Saudi Arabia, Egyptian managers failed to register any victory as Mohamed Salah's Al-Shoala played out a 1-1 draw at Al-Taawon, whereas Tarek Yehia's Hajr were edged out 3-2 at Al-Raed as they now languish third from bottom on 15 points. * Comments:0 * Print * Send to friend * Share * Share
