Egypt President Hosni Mubarak and Jordan's King Abdullah II on Thursday discussed efforts to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in talks in the coastal city of Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt's official Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported. The talks in the resort town of Sharm al-Sheikh also touched on developments in the "Arab and African arenas," particularly in Sudan following the elections there, Egypt's state media reported, without elaborating. MENA added that King Abdullah II congratulated Mubarak on his recovery from gall bladder surgery and his return to Egypt last month, and that the two discussed means of strengthening ties between their neighbouringcountries.
