Egypt and Togo agreed to play with each other in an international friendly that will be held in August as part of the Pharaohs' preparations for the 2012 African Cup of Nations qualifiers. "We have reached an agreement with the Togolese football association (FTF) over a warm-up game," a source from inside the Egyptian Football Association, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Filgoal.com. "We set up this meeting upon the request of Egypt's coaching staff." African champions Egypt, who claimed three successive Nations Cup titles under coach Hassan Shehata, will be looking to win the biennial competition for a recording-extending eighth time. Togo have been suspended for two Nations Cups for withdrawing from the 2010 edition in Angola. The Sparrow Hawks quitted the continental tournament after three members of their contingent were killed by firemen in the Angolan enclave of Cabinda. The 2012 Nations Cup will be hosted in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea. Egypt lie in the qualifying stage Group G alongside Niger, Sierra Leone and South Africa. Shehata's side will face Sierra Leone in their first qualifier.
