Al-Ahly are eyeing all three points when they meet Arab Contractors in the league in Cairo Wednesday night. Contractors are just as eager to win, as they're dangerously close to the relegation zone, lying in 14th place on 25 points. Titleholders Ahly, coached by Hossam el-Badri for about one year now and obviously anxious to retain the league local title, are feeling very confident, having qualified for the African Champions League (ACL) last 16 by beating the Gunners of Zimbabwe 2-1 on aggregate in the round of 32. The Red Devils are in great shape and have been looking brilliant in training ahead of the game. Soccer ace Mohamed Abou Treika, who proved his fitness when Ahly beat Petrojet last week, and his teammate Osama Hosni are both looking very good, while el-Badri will be using junior Saad Samir instead of the injured Ahmed el-Sayyed. In other news, Egypt's captain, Ahly star Ahmed Hassan, said on Tuesday the interest from Lierse has yet to reach the serious stage, but he hasn't ruled out a move to the Belgian side. Lierse's Egyptian chairman Maged Sami revealed that Hassan was a potential target for the Second Division side, who are close to sealing promotion. "Maged Sami is a friend of mine and so far we've only had a friendly conversation about the matter," the Ahly veteran told FilGoal.com. "He said he wants to form a strong team and that he would love to have me on board. I've said yes or no. My primary focus now is to help Ahly win the league title. Any way I hope Lierse get promoted too.” Hassan, 35, spent two fruitful seasons with Belgian giants Anderlecht before joining Ahly in 2008. The tireless midfielder chose to end his glittering spell in Belgium because he wanted to spend the remainder of his career at home for personal reasons. Meanwhile, Zamalek, in the second place in the league, host Police Union on Wednesday. Police's coach Talaat Youssef, anxious to put an end to Zamalek's wonderful winning streak, has been concentrating on defence and counterattacks in training. Police lie in the sixth place with 32 points, while second-placed Zamalek, who would love to snatch the title from Ahly's grasp, have 46 points. Amr Zaki believes Zamalek can do it under Hossam Hassan's management. The Hull City striker, on loan from the Whites, has been stressing his support for his parent club ahead of a tough finale to the season in Egypt and England as well. "Hossam Hassan has managed to revitalise the team," Zaki, who is nursing a knee injury in Cairo, told Zamalek's official site. "He has helped the players regain their winning spirit. His enthusiasm has seen the team move up from 13th place to second in the table. I think they can win the title." Zaki, who has been plagued by injuries over the past year, dismissed rumours about a chronic knee problem. "It is not true that I have a permanent problem or that I need a year to recover completely," the Egypt striker added. "I just have a jarred knee. I've had tests in England and in Egypt and I was told I need a week or ten days before resuming full training." Zaki, who scored ten goals for Wigan last season, has yet to make any impact with Hull following his January move. Petrojet's coach Mokhtar Mokhtar is in a dilemma when his team face el-Masri in Suez on Wednesday, as many of the players are injured, including Walid Soleiman, Ahmed Fawzi, Osama Mohamed, Ahmed Shaaban and Amr Hassan. Petrojet lie in third place with 38 points, while el-Masri are in tenth place with 29 points.
