AMMAN - Iraq, in co-operation with Jordan and Egypt, will operate a road from Baghdad to Amman, then to Cairo, an Iraqi official said Sunday. "The land road from Baghdad to Amman then to Cairo will open soon," Iraqi Minister of Transportation Amir Abdul Jabbar said. He was discussing the preparations with Jordanian and Egyptian officials during the approval of the budget of Al-Jesr Al-Arabi company. Abdul Jabbar said on the establishment of railway network between his country and Jordan that Iraq started to conduct studies to set the railway tracks on its lands, especially in Turaibeel and Ramadi close to Jordanian borders. He was also quoted him as saying that they were working to allow the private sector to finance the highly priced project. The Iraqi minister was in Jordan to participate in the opening of the headquarters Al-Jersr Al-Arabi Company, a joint Iraq-Egyptian-Jordanian company, operating since 25 years, and owns a number of yachts, and the three countries are expected to raise its capital in their meeting in Amman to $75 million compared to $66 million in 2009.
