THE Embassy of India in Cairo and Minya University in Upper Egypt are jointly organising an ‘India Week', running from tomorrow to April 5 at the premises of the university on the sidelines of the Second International Conference on ‘Arab-Western Dialogue'. The event will be co-opened by Ahmed Dia' el-Din , the Governor of Minya, Maher Gaber, the President of Minya University, and R. Swaminathan, the Ambassador of India to Egypt. The week-long festival will feature a talk on India- Egypt relations; a photo exhibition titled: ‘India-Egypt: A Photographic Retrospective'; and a display of books on and related to India at the Indian pavilion, which will also exhibit a variety of Indian teas and spices. The programme also includes a yoga demonstrationcum- workshop and screening of Indian films, in addition to interaction with the members of the Minya Chamber of Commerce to discuss potential opportunities for promoting bilateral economic and commercial co-operation.
