CAIRO – The reception and emergency departments at Matariya General Hospital in northeastern Cairo were closed on Tuesday, after thugs burst in and terrorised doctors, nurses and patients inside the hospital, the official Middle East News Agency (MENA) reports. "The thugs attacked the hospital, following a quarrel between two families outside. One person was killed in the violence," Safwat Rezq, the deputy director of the hospital, told MENA. He added that the violence erupted when a patient died in the hospital and the relatives of the deceased went on the rampage.
