ALEXANDRIA - Two people were killed and 10 others injured after a partial collapse of a building in Egypt's northern port city of Alexandria, Egypt's official Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported. Civil defense forces rushed to the scene and cordoned off the collapsed building to prevent further harm to passersby. The public prosecution ordered the burial of the two vicitms. Preventive measures were being taken to ensure that adjacent buildings will not be affected, Egypt's Ahram Online said. It is not rare that buildings out of repair collapse in Egypt. On Monday, a six-story building of a textile factory in Alexandria collapsed due to two days of torrential rain and strong winds that hit the city, killing 26 people and injuring 10 others. On the same day, six people died after a three-story residential building fell down in southern Sohag governorate. Building collapses and road accidents caused by heavy rain, winds and sandstorms killed and injured dozens across Egypt this week, the state media reported.
