CAIRO (Updated) - The closing ceremony of the 34th Cairo International Film Festival carried good news for Egypt, whose moviemakers have won five prizes including the Golden Pyramid, the festival's biggest prize. Egyptian director Khaled al-Hagar won the prestigious Golden Pyramid for his film "Al-Shawq", and Ahmed Abdullah's “Microphone” won the festival's award for best Arabic-language film. France's Isabelle Huppert, in "Copacabana", shared the best actress award with Al-Shawq's Sawsan Badr, from Egypt. Egypt's Amr Waked and Italy's Alessandro Gassman shared the best actor awards for their roles in Italian Ricky Tognazzi's "Il Padre E Lo Straniero." The Egyptian movie "96 Messaha Square" won a special prize from the Egyptian Ministry of Culture. The silver Pyramid Prize went to the Irish movie "As If I'm not There" directed by Juanita Wilson. The same movie got the special jury prize. The Prize for the Best Director went to the Bulgarian director Svetoslav Ovcharov for his movie "VOICE OVER". The Prize for the Best digital movie went to the Dutch film, Joy, directed by Mike De Jong. The 10-day festival, the oldest event of its kind in the Middle East, featured 147 films from 70 countries. For several years, one of the festival's problems has been finding an Egyptian film that can withstand competition from foreign works
