CAIRO - The ruling National Democratic Party has swept the runoff vote, heading for dominating Egypt's new parliamentary, according to initial results. The party, which won 209 out of 508 seats at stake in the November 28 first round, claimed most seats in Sunday's elections boycotted by Al Wafd liberal party and the banned Muslim Brotherhood. However, two contenders from Al Wafd and the group running as independents, were declared winners on Monday. The full results are expected to be released later in the day.
