CAIRO- Health inspectors have seized 20 tonnes of food unfit for human consumption at a supplying company in the Egyptian capital, they said on Thursday. The seized quantity included fruit and vegetables, processed food, cooked meals, edible oils and bread. Authorities destroyed the items as the suspected supplier is being questioned. The crackdown was part of an intense health campaign being undertaken by authorities in Cairo at the local market during the current Muslim holy month of Ramadan when food consumption usually increases.
