CAIRO, Sept 21, 2018 (MENA) – Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said on Friday that LE 586.6 million in the 2018/2019 fiscal year budget were earmarked to Upper Egypt's New Qena City. The sum is planned to be used in developing electricity, road, communication, drinking water, sewage, housing, services and agricultural projects, Madbouli said. The premier added that 5,084 residential units of social housing have been constructed and another 6,068 units are in the pipeline. Head of the New Qena Development Authority Radwan Abdel Rashid said that the new city has been witnessing a boom in its services, especially in the community services domains, such as the educational, social, security, and health, sports, and religious ones.
