CAIRO, May 23, 2018 - Egypt and Spain on Wednesday signed an agreement for a LE3.2 million grant, provided by the Spanish Agency for International Development Co-operation (AECID), to support the National Centre for Judicial Studies (NCJS). The agreement signing was attended by the Minister of Investment, Sahar Nasr, and the Spanish ambassador in Cairo, Arturo Affilio. Minister Nasr said, "The Ministry is keen to support the Ministry of Justice, and all the action plans to end corruption. "The grant is aimed at the exchange of expertise by Egypt and Spain in the fields of gender equality, electronic crimes, and money laundering." Nasr added that this was the third tranche of the grant, Egypt having obtained the first and second tranches at a total value of 600,000 euros, to support the National Centre for Judicial Studies (NCJS). As part of the agreement, judges, general prosecutors and judicial authorities will receive training in arbitration, bankruptcy, compensation cases, rent cases, family crimes, violence against women and combatting corruption. The Minister said that the two sides would co-operate in other fields in which Spain has a competitive edge.
