By Amira Sayed CAIRO, May 10, 2018- Egypt's Irrigation Minister Mohamed Abdel Ati left Cairo on Thursday morning , heading to South Sudan on an official visit with the key aim of boosting bilateral ties between the two countries in the water resources and irrigation field. The Ministry's Spokesperson Hossam el-Emam stressed that the visit comes within the framework of the country's keenness on cementing water ties with the brotherly country in addition to discussing joint ventures. The visit is to witness the inauguration of one of the ministry's projects in South Sudan. The irrigation ministry, el-Emam continued, has implemented a number of development projects in South Sudan as part of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two countries in 2006 along with two protocols of technical cooperation inked in 2011 and 2014. Meanwhile, the irrigation ministry has also implemented six groundwater-dependent potable water stations besides a water distribution network in Juba city. During his visit, Minister Ati is to inaugurate a water level measurement station in Mongalla.
