CAIRO, March 25, 2018 - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi yesterday bestowed the Sash of the Nile on Saudi Minister of State for African Affairs Ahmed Abdel Aziz Qattan in appreciation of his efforts during his 14-year term of office as the kingdom's ambassador in Cairo, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said. Commending the efforts made by Mr. Qattan in support of relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia during his 14-year-long tenure, President Sisi awarded the prestigious order of merit to Saudi Arabia's former ambassador to Egypt. The President said that Mr. Qattan contributed to developing relations between the two countries during his tenure as Saudi ambassador to Cairo, spokesman Radi said. The Saudi minister conveyed to President Sisi the greetings of Saudi King Salman bin Abdel Aziz and Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister Mohamed bin Salman. He underlined the strong historical relations that bind the two countries and expressed his country's keenness on enhancing all fields of co-operation, he added.
