ETPB intensifies tourism promotion activities in 2022

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Council (ETPB) have intensified their tourism promotion activities during 2022.
According to the harvest report, the ETPB has contracted in August the American company McCann, one of the largest specialized international advertising agencies, to undertake an international promotion campaign.
Egypt launched a number of campaigns on social media and purchased advertising space for marketing the Egyptian tourist destinations in foreign markets, including the "Follow the Sun" campaign launched in March in the UK, Germany, Italy, France, and the USA. The same campaign was re-launched in October in France, Italy, the UK, and the USA.
A campaign to promote the Egyptian tourist destinations in the English Premier League was launched in October-November. Another campaign was conducted on social media on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Egyptology in September.

Campaigns around the world:

ï The "100 years of Tutankhamun: wonderful monuments" campaign on social media (October-November).
ï A campaign to celebrate the centenary of the discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun on social media (4 November).
ï A campaign to promote sustainable tourism in Egypt under the slogan "A Civilization Inspired by Nature" in Germany, the UK, Italy, the USA, and some Arab countries on the sidelines of COP27 (November).
ï A campaign directed at the American market through advertisements in Time Square, New York (July).

Campaigns in Arab markets:

ï "Your vacation is with us" campaign in the Eid El-Fitr holiday (April).
ï "Today in Egypt" campaign in the summer season 2022 (June).
ï "Egypt welcomes its guests" campaign in 11 countries to introduce the new facilities applied regarding the procedures for obtaining a tourist visa to enter Egypt (April).

In addition, Egypt participated in many international tourism exchanges and exhibitions, including London Tourism Exchange (WTM) in the United Kingdom, Berlin Tourism Exchange (ITB) in Germany, Madrid Tourism Exchange (FITUR) in Spain, Milan Tourism Exchange (BIT) in Italy, WTM Latin America Tourism Exchange in Brazil, Arabian Travel Market (ATM) in Dubai, Leisure and MITT exhibitions in Moscow, IFTM Top Resa exhibition in Paris, and UITT and UITM exhibitions in Ukraine.
Other exhibitions included TTG Rimini exhibition in Rimini and Eudi Show in Bologna and the international tourism exhibition IGTM specialized in golf tourism in Rome, Italy, the exhibition Dykmassan International Diving in Gothenburg, Sweden, USTOA in San Diego, USA, IMEX International Exhibition for Incentive Tourism and Conventions in Frankfurt, Germany, and IMEX America in Las Vegas.
The ministry also participated in two exhibitions in which Egypt was the partner country: the Belgrade International Tourism Fair (ITF) and the international tourism fair HUNGEXPO in Budapest, Hungary.
