President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi received a call from the US president-elect Donald Trump Thursday evening, in which they discussed Egyptian-American relations, along with other issues. The call comes just days after the US electoral college affirmed Trump's victory in the November elections. According to state media reports, Al-Sisi and Trump reportedly agreed the coming period will be one of significant developments in bilateral relations between Egypt and the US. Both presidents also spoke about several regional issues related to the Middle East and North Africa. Al-Sisi spoke to his counterpart about the recent United Nations (UN) security council resolution that called for an end to Israeli settlement expansion. According to state media, the two agreed it was important for the US administration to achieve a final and comprehensive solution to the Israeli-Palestinian issue. Trump invited Al-Sisi to visit the US in the near future to continue bilateral talks.
