The medical services sector, in coordination with the prison services sector at the Ministry of Interior and a number of security directorates, sent medical convoys to public prisons and police stations to provide medical services to prisoners, local media reported. A medical convoy was sent to Al-Marg prison, which included doctors from various medical specialties. It consists of 14 officer doctors and six nurses and worked cooperatively with prison doctors to sign medical examination to all prisoners and give a number of necessary medications to 205 prisoners. A medical convoy was also sent to Assiut prison, including all medical specialties, for four days. Medical examinations were made on 958 prisoners there, while some cases were diagnosed and doctors prescribed the necessary treatment for them. The Ministry of Interior is continuing its efforts to send such medical convoys to provide all means of health and medical care for prisoners and detainees to follow-up on their health. Earlier last month, several medical convoys, including 63 officer doctors from various specialties and five nursing crews, were sent to conduct medical examinations for the prisoners of El-Nahda El-Marakazy, Tora, and Loyman prison to provide them with necessary medications.
