A small explosive device thrown from a motorcycle exploded Saturday morning near the Police Headquarters in Ain Shams, a bustling Cairo suburb. The explosion occurred around 7am and caused limited damage. A Ministry of Health press release said that one person was injured in the blast, although the Ministry of Interior denied this claim. The bomb was the fifth to go off in Cairo in two days. Almost 24 hours earlier, a massive car bomb struck a Cairo security headquarters, shattering an air of calm on the eve of the third anniversary of the 25 January Revolution. Four were killed and over 70 were wounded. Saturday's blast in Ain Shams was relatively smaller in comparison, but reports from the SITE monitoring organisation indicate that the blast was claimed by Ansar Beit Al-Maqdis. The Sinai based militant group claimed responsibility for all of the bombings that took place in Cairo over the last two days. A recent message released by the Al-Qaeda-inspired groups warned of more attacks on Saturday, and later warned Muslims to stay away from "enemy headquarters and security centres", Reuters reported. Reports claimed that security forces disarmed another explosive device at the scene, but this could not immediately be confirmed.
