Mansour calls for cooperation between institutions
Published in Daily News Egypt on 29 - 10 - 2013

Interim President Adly Mansour called for all organisations and institutions in Egypt to "follow the example of the armed forces" to "ease the suffering of the masses."
Speaking at the opening of new highways on Tuesday built with contributions from the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, Mansour said the cabinet is working hard to find solutions to the problems faced by the Egyptian people," reported Aswat Masriya.
The ceremony was also attended by interim Minister of Defence Abdel Fatah Al-Sisi and interim Prime Minister Hazem El-Beblawi.
Mansour called for "hard work… to complete the remaining requirements of this phase and move Egypt towards the future." He also stressed that "time is of the essence".
The interim president, who assumed the post following the removal of Mohamed Morsi in July, also met with Al-Sisi and interim Minister of Interior Mohamed Ibrahim on Monday at the presidential palace in Heliopolis, reported state media agency MENA.
The meeting included an update on the current security situation and according to the military spokesperson's office, Mansour asked Al-Sisi to enforce higher security on the streets. Spokesman for the presidency Ihab Al-Badawi told reporters that Mansour praised the coordination of the armed forces and police to "secure the homeland."
On Sunday the Arab Network for Human Rights Information criticised the interim government, saying that the first 100 days of its rule have been characterised by "the absence of justice and rule of law." The report issued by the rights group highlighted the extension of pre-trial detention and the imposed state of emergency as issues of concern.
