Latest casualty from August clashes
Published in Daily News Egypt on 02 - 09 - 2013

The funeral of Ahmed Al-Masry, the latest victim of the August clashes was held on Monday.
Al-Masry, a member of 6 April Youth Movement, died on Sunday after battling injuries from the 14 August clashes for over two weeks. According to 6 April Youth Movement's Facebook page, Al-Masry was shot in the stomach while taking pictures of the clashes in the Mohandessin neighborhood of Giza.
Friends of Al-Masry circulated a screenshot of a Facebook status Al-Masry had written saying: "for the sake of my country, I can give up my life but not see the country militarised."
The funeral ceremony was held in the morning, with mourners gathering at 10am on Monday. The mourners took his body and proceeded to his home in Boulaq Al-Dakrour before starting funeral prayers. Al-Masry was buried in the 6 October suburb of Giza and a funeral service was held for him on Monday evening.
Deadly clashes took place mid-August when security dispersed two sit-ins of supporters of former President Mohamed Morsi in Rabaa Al-Adaweya and Al-Nahda squares. After the clearing of Al-Nahda Square, Morsi supporters flocked to nearby Mohandessin where they tried to set up another sit-in but eventually their attempts failed.
Hundreds died as a result of the dispersals of the two sit-ins, which were followed by a state of emergency and curfews in Cairo and 13 other provinces.
