Ahly will be difficult, says Roma coach
Published in Daily News Egypt on 06 - 08 - 2008

CAIRO: Roma boss Luciano Spalletti is aware of the toughness of Ahly ahead of Wednesday s pre-season friendly at Cairo Stadium.
The game will not be easy at all, we know we are facing a very tough team with a lot of titles, Spalletti said in the pre-match news conference.
Ahly are very strong and if you have a look at the trophies they won, that even makes it more difficult.
We are willing to have strong friendlies before the Serie A start, but we are not concerned about the results.
I admit that we are yet to reach our top form, but I am confident that my players will give their maximum.
On Wednesday morning, the Roma squad enjoyed a quick tour to the Pyramids, hours before the game.
The Giallorossi team made a brief visit to Egypt s most popular tourist site, with a host of non-Egyptian supporters gathering for autographs.
Meanwhile, Francesco Totti s involvement in the game remained uncertain as the Roma icon is still en route to recover from a serious knee injury.
Following his departure with the squad to Cairo, there was speculation that the 32-year-old could feature against the Egyptian champions.
However, the elegant playmaker is cautious over his comeback timing as he sets sights on the Italian Super Cup clash with Inter Milan later this month.
The objective is to get back for the Super Cup but I'm not losing sleep over playing on Aug. 24, he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Giallorossi will kickoff their new season when they host Napoli in the Serie A opener on Aug. 31.
