SHARM EL-SHEIKH: The Dubai School of Government (DSG) signed Monday a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Egyptian government to provide training for Egyptian government officials.
The signing was attended by Egypt's Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif and Sheikha Lubna Al Qassimi, UAE minister of foreign trade at the World Economic Forum on the Middle East in Sharm El-Sheikh.
Under the agreement, DSG will provide executive education programs for candidates from various ministries and bodies in the Egyptian government.
DSG has partnerships with top universities and international research institutions such as the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore.
"Our partnership with the Egyptian government comes in light of our regional outreach efforts in the Arab world. In keeping with our mission, we continue to strive to improve the public policy capacity of the Arab region, Nabil Ali Al Yousuf, executive president of the DSG, said at the signing.
In addition to conducting research associated with public policy, the school will offer customized programs for candidates from the Egyptian government leading to a master's degree in public policy. Both parties will cooperate in launching the Decision Making and Information Support Council in Egypt.
