Published in Daily News Egypt on 18 - 02 - 2008

CAIRO: Raya IT reported a record high sales figure of LE 335 million for fiscal year 2007, said Hisham Abd El Rassoul, the CEO of Raya Integration, in a press release.
The company also detailed several projects in the pipeline in a number of sectors.
In the telecom sector, "Raya will be delivering a turn key project for an extension of the network solutions in Telecom Egypt. This includes implementing, commissioning and integrating the full network solution based on Cisco and other technologies, the firm said.
"The project spans the software and hardware infrastructure and the security solution integrated with the LAN/WAN infrastructure in addition to a converged IP based Telephony system. The solution will be scalable to cope with Telecom Egypt's future expansions, the statement continued.
Also, in line with the booming market trend of e-payment and the accelerated penetration of ATMs in the market, Al Watany Bank of Egypt signed a contract with Raya to deliver, install and implement almost 50 Diebold Opteva ATM machines over a period of two years.
"Diebold Opteva ATM machines combine fashionable design with the fastest money dispensing and optimum security. . Other software solutions provided by Raya to the market include campaign office for advertisement, journal office to archive ATM journal and Sygate firewall to protect the ATMs against any network attacks.
Raya also developed an integrated solution for Credit Agricole that would provide the bank with facilities such as hardware, servers, storage, databases, and migration applications to serve the bank's core banking application, based on IFlex, HP and Cisco technologies.
In addition, Raya will also upgrade the bank's network and build its current solutions by managing and implementing a call center and IVR solution for the bank.
Raya will work with the Egyptian Customs Authority to develop a network and security solution in collaboration with Clavistar, Websense, Cisco and Mcafee. These solutions are to be implemented at International Cairo Airport as well as the Alexandria, Port Said, Suez, Ismailia and Dekhila Ports.
In the retail sector, Raya partnered with CityStars to implement Digital Signage technology in Egypt's mega mall. The project is owned and operated by Next Generation Services (NGS).
Digital signage is the new market trend for retail and banking utilized in communicating information such as stock prices and currency values for the financial institutions and displaying entertaining video and commercial ads for retail outlets.
CityStars digital signage is a network of 1,000 LCD screens that have been placed in hallways and corridors throughout the mall. The network will air entertaining content as well as advertisements for the top consumer brands and the 550 stores operating in CityStars.
With a viewer ship of over 50,000 visitors per day, the Digital Signage Network in City Stars provides a unique medium for companies to advertise their brands at the point-of-purchase/point-of-sale and represents a highly creative value-added-service that generates additional revenue for the commercial center.
