NEW DELHI: India's Bollywood will be getting a new film based on the romantic action-comedy that starred Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz, “Knight and Day,” local media reported on Monday. The film will be remade into a Hindi film with the hopes of garnering massive success in India. Directed by James Mangold with Diaz in the female lead, the film saw mixed responses at the box office in the United States. Now, Fox Star Studios is looking forward to make the ‘Desi' remake of the movie with actors Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif in central roles. It is reported that the Hindi version of the film will have new twists and a whole different storyline. “We are making that film in Hindi. We have signed Hrithik and Katrina for the Hindi remake,” Vivek Krishnani, Fox Star Studios, Head of Distribution, marketing and syndication, told Press Trust of India. Hrithik has been signed up to play Cruise's character, while Katrina, who was last seen on silver screen opposite Salman Khan in ‘Ek Tha Tiger', has been roped in to play the role earlier played by Diaz. “The film will be directed by Siddharth Anand and will be screened next year,” he said.
