KUALA LUMPUR: As part of the continued Diamond Jubilee celebrations, Prince William and Kate Middleton will be in Malaysia from September 13 through 16. According to the official Bernama news agency, Malaysians will get to meet the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge “face-to-face” when they arrive. Prince William and Duchess Kate are scheduled to go on a walkabout at the KLCC park on the second day of their visit, said British High Commissioner to Malaysia Simon Featherstone. “Here, the public will get a glimpse of the royal couple who will experience the richness and diversity of Malaysian culture beneath the iconic Petronas Twin Towers,” he told reporters on Monday. He added that Malaysians were also set to be the first people outside Britain to hear the Duchess make a speech in public. “She will deliver the speech during their visit to Hospis Malaysia. This is only the Duchess' second public speech and her first outside the UK,” he said, adding that the Duchess was also scheduled to witness the launch of a health program at the organization. The pair will head to Singapore before arriving in Malaysia, a British government statement last month said.
