Facebook announced it has launched an app store in the United Kingdom, less than a month since launching a similar operation in the United States, the company said. According to Facebook, the new app store will have more than 600 apps available right away, with more planned to be introduced. Among those being offered are services such as Pinterest and games Draw Something and Bejeweled, reported The Telegraph. The UK store will also have a few extra European options, including the French music streaming site Deezer available. There will be the usual recommendations and ratings that Facebook continues to employ and users will be able to see what apps their friends are using. The store is available via the mobile app on both Apple's iOS and the Android platform. With more than 900 million members, Facebook said it will also sell its own apps through the store. “The move is being seen as a shrewd one by technology analysts because the App Center will allow the social network to showcase the best apps, based on its extensive social data, which allow users to login using their Facebook details via Connect,” wrote The Telegraph.
