CAIRO: Egypt's Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Hesham Kandil, stressed the depth of Egyptian-Sudanese relations and described them as time honored. In press statements, he added that the new regime in Egypt should exert efforts to prove that “Egypt and Sudan are one hand.” Qandeel underlined the good Egyptian-Sudanese ties, adding that bilateral trade, opening roads and crossings, setting up corporations and the Sudan's allocation of farmland for Egyptian investment are all opportunities for integration, according to a statement by Egypt's State Information Service. Water management issues in Egypt are considered a matter of national security, and co-operation on water allocation from the Nile is foremost in Egypt's relations with the Sudan.
