New Delhi (dpa) – Police on Wednesday announced the arrest of an Indian journalist in connection with last month's bomb attack on an Israeli's diplomat wife in New Delhi. Police spokesman Rajan Bhagat said the suspect was arrested Tuesday night in the southern part of the capital. Media reports quoted police sources describing the man as a freelance journalist who claimed to work for an Iranian news agency. “He will be produced in a local court after questioning,” Bhagat said, declining to give further details. The man was arrested on suspicion of participating in the bombing plot, broadcaster CNN-IBN reported. Tal Yehoshua Koren, the wife of an Israeli Defense Ministry official, suffered shrapnel injuries in the attack at a traffic light near the Israeli embassy in central Delhi on February 13. Israel has accused Iran of involvement in the attack, which Tehran denied. Reports said Delhi police were close to a “breakthrough” in the case and more arrests were likely.
