Buenos Aires (dpa) – Former Argentine dictator Reynaldo Bignone was Thursday handed a further 15-year jail term for crimes against humanity during the 1976-83 military regime in the South American country. Some 30,000 people, most of whose bodies have never been found, are believed to have been killed during the regime. Bignone, now 85, was the last leader of the dictatorship and ruled 1982-3. The latest sentence against Bignone – who had already been sentenced twice, to 25 years in jail and to life in prison – refers to repression within the Hospital Posadas, in the Buenos Aires suburb of Haedo. Bignone personally led the military occupation of the hospital in 1976. BM ShortURL: http://goo.gl/Ypqn8 Tags: Argentina, Bignone, Jail Section: South America
