London (dpa) – Chelsea's title hopes suffered a further set-back as they were held to a 1-1 by Fulham in the early Boxing Day Premier League match. Juan Mata scored the opening goal for the home side just two minutes after the restart, but Clint Dempsey equalized in the 55th minute to give Fulham a deserved draw. Chelsea, who remain fourth, could slip 13 points behind Manchester City if the leaders win at West Brom later Monday, while second-placed Manchester United are at home to Wigan. Fulham, who bounced back strongly from their 5-0 home defeat against United last week, could have taken the lead in the first half though Dempsey, whose shot was well saved by Czech International Petr Cech. Orlando Sa, who only started his second Premier League game had a free header against defender Jose Bosingwa, but missed the target shortly afterwards. The Blues, who drew their third game in a row, had several chances towards the end of the game to find the winning goal, but Fulham goalkeeper David Stockdale pulled off a number of saves to deny Didier Drogba and Raul Moreiles.
