CAIRO: Egypt's Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) congratulated Egyptians for the Eid festival, the holiday that follows the holy month of Ramadan and which began on Tuesday. In a statement on its Facebook page the SCAF said it sends the nation its best wishes. This holiday marks the first Eid following the Egyptian revolution of January 25 that put an an end to ousted president Hosni Mubarak's 30-year rule. The Egyptian cabinet also sent its best holiday wishes on its Facebook page and also sent its best wishes to the SCAF and the army. Potential presidential nominee Mohamed ElBaradei also congratulated Egyptians in a video statmenet. “The joy this year is doubled, for there is the usual joy of the Eid and the joy of getting back our country,” he said. ElBaradei said he feels the pains of those economically challenged and asked Egyptians to work to realize the demands of the revolution of social justice “putting aside the constitution and the elections,” he added.
