German chancellor Angela Merkel will meet with French president François Hollande on Thursday in Berlin to discuss the way forward in the eurozone crisis and the deteriorating debt situation in Greece. Merkel and Hollande are scheduled to have dinner on August 23 before they each meet Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras seperately. Samaras is likely to raise a long-standing proposal that Greek austerity measures be spread over four instead of two years.
