Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi will visit Portugal on 21 and 22 November upon an invitation by Portuguese President Marcelo de Sousa, an Egyptian presidency statement said on Saturday. The presidents will discuss ways to develop the two countries' relationship in the next period and strengthen their economic, political and diplomatic ties. During his two-day visit, El-Sisi will meet de Sousa as well as the Portuguese parliament speaker, the prime minister, Lisbon's mayor, as well as Portuguese businessmen and representatives from scientific institutions and academia. In June, Portugal's foreign affairs minister Augusto Santos Silva visited Cairo and extended an invitation to El-Sisi on behalf of the Portuguese president to visit Lisbon At the time, Silva discussed with El-Sisi ways to increase Portuguese tourism to Egypt as well as regional developments.
