A delegation of top Portuguese companies will be visiting Cairo next September to take part in the Egyptian-Portuguese Investment Forum, acting chairman of the Egyptian investment authority announced Friday. Mona Zobaa, Acting Chairman of the Egyptian General Authority for Investment (GAFI), further said the forum is designated to help Portuguese investors know more about the available investment opportunities in Egypt. Zobaa made these remarks following her meeting with Maria Madalena Fischer, Portugal's ambassador to Egypt, at the GAFI's headquarters on Friday. From her part, Fischer announced that Portugal's Foreign Minister Augusto Santos Silva is expected to visit Cairo during June 13-14 to meet with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry. The Portuguese ambassador also suggested signing a memorandum of understanding between GAFI and the AICEP Portugal Global on the sidelines of Silva's anticipated visit this month. AICEP Portugal Global - Trade & Investment Agency is a government business entity, created in 2007, focused in encouraging the best foreign companies to invest in Portugal and contribute to the success of Portuguese companies abroad in their internationalization processes or export activities.
