Egyptian stock market opens week with $383mn gains

Egyptian stock market started the week with gains estimated at 3 billion Egyptian pounds (US$382.9 million) on local buying appetite.
The market capitalisation has recorded 392.757 billion during the closing session of Sunday.
Indices
Egypt's benchmark index, EGX30 climbed by 1.26 percent to 6156.01 points.
The EGX50 EWI index jumped by 1.63 percent to 1149.9 points.
EGX20 rose by 1.63 percent to 6168.09 points.
In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 increased by 0.84 percent to 352.89 points. The price index, EGX100 boosted by 0.90 percent to 726.22 points.
Turnovers up
On Thursday , the bourse's trading volume has hit 133.904 million securities, with turnovers closed at 295.046 million pounds, exchanged through 18,179 thousand transactions.
Also during the closing session, 158 listed securities have been traded in; 44 declined, 73 advanced; while 41 kept their previous levels.

On Sunday , the bourse's trading volume has reached 189.370 million securities, with turnovers closed at 452.209 million pounds, exchanged through 21,151 thousand transactions.
Also during the closing session, 161 listed securities have been traded in; 18 declined, 109 advanced; while 29 kept their previous levels.
Investors' Activities
Arab and foreign investors were net sellers on Sunday getting 6.34% and 6.34% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of 2.495 million pounds and 7.588 million pounds, respectively, excluding the deals.
On the contrary, local investors were net buyers seizing 87.32% of the total market, with a net equity of 10.084 million pounds, excluding the deals.
