University Students Live the Stock Market Moment
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 26 - 02 - 2015

The Model of Egyptian Stock Exchange (MESE) kicks off Saturday at the Future University in Egypt (FUE) to teach students the basics of the business.
For 18 years, the MESE has been helping participants to implement their theoretical studies in the real world of the stock market.
"The main target of this model is to help the students understand and learn more about the stock exchange, providing them with technical skills and professional manners that can enhance their performance in the job market and live the environment of the real stock market with all its tools," said head of Team External Fatma Adel Salem.
The student activity was established in 1996 by former Egyptian Minister of Investment Mahmoud Mohy El-Din.
The model is currently available in four other universities: Cairo University, Ain Shams University, Ahram Canadian University, and the Canadian International College.
After six weeks of training, a simulation conference for the real stock market will take place for three days, where participants are granted virtual money and are divided into investors, bankers and brokers for role-play.
Then there will be a huge party attended by the president of the Egyptian Stock Exchange to certify the students.
Last year's conference was held at the Egyptian Stock Exchange.
Hosting this year's round, the FUE will be holding sessions once per week for six weeks, with fully prepared, well-trained and technically updated students to pass on the knowledge to their colleagues.
The MESE FUE team is coordinated by Khaled Hany, and is organised by three teams; Team External headed by Islam Abdel Aziz and Fatma Adel Salem, Team Internal headed by Sayed Mamdouh and Mostafa Shoaib, and Team Reception headed by Rania Hassan and Muhanned Abu El-Goud.
Other stock market-related student activities have recently been launched, such as Misr International University's Stock Market Simulation.
