The Egyptian Banking Institute holds its 6th Annual Conference

Under the title of "Towards Banking Sustainability: Principles and Road map", the Egyptian Banking Institute holds its 6th Annual Conference on March 17th, under the auspices of His Excellency Mr. Hisham Ramez, Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt.
This year's conference guest of honor and keynote speaker is the international distinguished expert Mr. Sarkis Daniel Yoghourtdjian, Board of governors of the Federal Reserve System.
In addition, the annual conference comprises of a number of international speakers specialized in the banking sustainability topic. These speakers represent reputable organizations such as: International Finance Corporation (IFC), European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Deutsche Bank, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Child and Youth Finance International (CYFI).
The conference is discussing all the aspects and principles of the Banking Sustainability matter. Sustainable banking refers to the organizations' long term management strategies seeking profits for shareholders, long term relationship with customers, good working conditions for the employees, with regards to social and environmental issues.
Discussions will be divided into three diversified sessions tackling: Green Banking and Sustainable Lending Best Practices, Recent Developments on Inclusive Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Building long term customer's relations and role of Financial Inclusion.
In the closing session, Dr. Mona El Baradei, Executive Director of the Egyptian Banking Institute will discuss with distinguished Egyptian bank's chairmen their vision of sustainable banking strategies adoption in the Egyptian banking sector, its benefits and the challenges they may face trying to apply all the principles.
At the end, the uniqueness of EBI Annual Conference stems from the presence of a selective group of attendees from the financial and banking sectors along with academicians sharing experiences, ideas, networking and assuring high level of cooperation. The conference is also sponsored by prestigious banks in Egypt.
