A student has died during clashes between Muslim Brotherhood supporters and security guards at Cairo University, an official source from the interior ministry has told Al-Ahram Arabic news website. Commerce student Omar Osama died from a gunshot wound on Thursday afternoon, the interior ministry said. However, Cairo University president Gaber Nassar denied the news. The clashes had injured six people, he said. A number of students received bullets wounds, according to reports. The student union of the university announced in the early evening hours that another student at the faculty of science, Ali Mohamed Ali, died of gun wounds. Kamal El-Dally of Giza police said university guards had refused their request to enter the campus. Security forces confronted the students when they exited the campus and began to provoke chaos on their way to Nahda Square, El-Dally said. Police arrested 20.
