Barwa Real Estate Group, one of the leading real estate and investment companies in Qatar, signed several deals for units in both Barwa Commercial Avenue and Barwa City deals during Cityscape Qatar 2013 that concluded recently, said a press statement.
The group signed leasing contracts with Lulu Hypermarket , Tanween and Ansar City. Under the agreement, Tanween will be able to run six buildings in Barwa City, while Ansar City will be occupying a showroom over an area of 27,000sqm in Barwa Commercial Avenue. Deputy Group CEO, Ahmad Abdulla Al Abdulla and Director of Group Real Estate Assets, Mohamed Jassim Al Othman attended the signing ceremony from Barwa Real Estate, as well as Chairman of Ansar City, Ali Akbar Sheikh Ali, and Regional Manager for Qatar and Egypt at Lulu Hypermarket , Mohammed Altaf, and CEO of Tanween Mohammed Abdulrahman Fakhro.
Board Member and Group CEO of Barwa Real Estate, Abdullah Abdulaziz Al Subaie, said: "We are pleased with the overwhelming response from audiences and visitors to Cityscape Qatar. The business we have done so far and the deals we signed are great examples on the dynamic contribution of Barwa towards the national development plans".
Barwa had showcased some of the group's leading projects during the event. Those included Dara project in Lusail City and the proposed ideas of Oryx Island and Gulf Resort.
Al Subaie was also a keynote speaker in the first Qatari real estate summit, attended by the leaders of real estate industry from Qatar and the world. During his speech, Al Subaie tackled the strong foundations necessary for executing Qatar Vision 2030 and the National Development Strategy 2011 - 2016.
He talked about the importance of those plans in shaping the ambitions of enhancing infrastructure and maximizing the effective role of private investments as well as public and private companies.
"The significant growth in foreign direct investment (FDI) index proves that Qatar has achieved great results in attracting this type of investment into Qatar. Today, Barwa provide opportunities for foreign investors to be able to buy real estate properties in Lusail City through Barwa new development, Dara, located near the zones which will be hosting opening and final games of the World Cup 2022," Al Subaie said.
