Billionaire Elon Musk recently launched SpaceX's satellite internet service, Starlink, in collaboration with Indonesian Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, targeting the country's health sector, Reuters reported on Sunday. "I'm very excited to bring connectivity to places that have low connectivity," Musk stated. Access to the internet enables learning and empowers individuals, he added. Starlink was launched at three Indonesian health centres on Sunday, including two in Bali and one on the remote island of Aru in Maluku. The high internet speeds will help address health challenges like stunting and malnutrition. Musk prioritises Starlink over potential investments in Indonesia's EV industry. The government aims to attract Tesla for EV manufacturing plants due to the country's nickel resources. He will meet President Joko Widodo and discuss Starlink at the World Water Forum. Starlink is now commercially available in Indonesia, with plans to expand services to remote areas.
