Cityscape's Egypt Real Estate Summit returns to Egypt in March

Cairo is to host the Egypt Real Estate Summit, under the auspices of the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Development, for the second year in a row. The Summit will run for three days from the 26th March 2013 to the 28th March 2013 at the InterContinental Cairo CityStars Hotel in Cairo, leading into the Cityscape Egypt in association with Next Move Exhibition from 28-31 March 2013 at the Cairo International Convention Center.
The Egypt Real Estate Summit, the leading real estate community platform, will be held in Cairo with an impressive keynote lineup. The summit will be focusing on capitalizing new investment and development opportunities following the democratic election of President Mohamed Morsi and the appointment of a technocratic government. Industry experts will map out their strategies for the future and explore primary factors needed to drive the sector's recovery. Industry leaders will showcase investment opportunities that offer solutions to current market challenges. Participants will benefit from local and global expertise, and gain a comprehensive perspective of the real estate sector trends and future developments.
H.E. Dr. Tarek Wafik, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Development said that the ministry is working on resolving all pending disputes with real estate developers stressing upon the government's leading role in facilitating investment in the prominent real estate market, which is always in demand.
“The government has various vital projects which can pour investments into Egypt, most notably the development of the US$ 100 billion economic zone along the Suez corridor by 2022," H.E. Dr. Tarek Wafik added.
H.E. Dr. Osama Kamal, Governor of Cairo, said that Egypt has the required fundamentals for the economy to recover and thrive in the coming period, especially after putting an end to the transitional period and the political turmoil. H.E. Dr. Osama Kamal assured that Egypt has considerable under-utilised land plots and exotic tourist destinations. The Governor added that the government is currently working on developing several schemes supported by a range of legislations to attract foreign direct investment.
“Hosting the Egypt Real Estate Summit for the second consecutive year reflects the sense of renewed confidence and optimism of the international business community in Egypt. This year the summit will offer a unique opportunity for all market players to work on industry-based solutions and energise the local real estate market," said Mr. Chris Speller, Commercial Director of Informa Egypt.
Key topics for discussion will include understanding the role of legislative structure in sector recovery initiatives, strategies for accessing sustainable project finance, and upgrading the mortgage sector in Egypt.
