'Ahmadinejad's Visit To Egypt Will Help Promote Tehran-Cairo Ties'
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 21 - 01 - 2013

The director of Egypt's Interests Section in Tehran, Khalid al-Said Ibrahim Amari, has said that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's visit to Cairo will help promote relations between the two countries.
Ahmadinejad will visit Cairo next month to attend a summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which is scheduled to be held from February 2 to 7.
Ahmadinejad has been invited to attend the summit by Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi.
In an interview with the Persian service of IRNA published on Sunday, Amari highlighted the importance of the Iranian president's visit to Egypt and said, "The exchange of visits between high-ranking Iranian and Egyptian officials will play a significant role in promoting relations and bringing the views of the two Muslim countries closer together."
He also said that Ahmadinejad will meet with Morsi during his visit, adding, "The presidents of the two powerful and influential countries in the Muslim world and the Middle East will discuss the most important regional and international issues as well as the issues related to bilateral ties."
Cairo ready to host Iran-5+1 talks
Elsewhere in his remarks, Amari said that Egypt is ready to host a new round of talks between Iran and the 5+1 group (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany) over the country's nuclear program if the two sides want to hold the talks in the Arab country.
The Egyptian government is also ready to make every effort to help the talks produce positive results, he said, adding that Egypt supports Iran's right to use nuclear energy meant for peaceful purposes and believes that Iran's nuclear issue should be resolved through negotiation.
The latest round of high-level talks between Iran and world powers was held in Moscow on June 18 and 19, 2012.
