Egypt aims to be Africa's hub in the pharmaceutical industry, said Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement's (UPA) chairman, Bahaa El-Din Zidan on Wednesday. Zidan made his remarks during a preparatory meeting organised by UPA to announce the launch of the second edition of Africa Health ExCon 2023, to take place on June 7-10. The North African country has doctors and pharmacists "who possess great expertise, but on isolated islands, while the conference aims to gather these experiences," Zidan added. In his remarks, he emphasised on the importance of Africa Health ExCon in fostering a unified vision for the healthcare sector in Africa, while bringing an opportunity to exchange expertise and knowledge in this field. He continued that major global pharmaceutical companies keenly look forward taking part in the event to explore the available investment and trade opportunities in Africa's healthcare sector. Noteworthy, that UPA will organise the conference at Egypt International Exhibition Center (EIEC) under the patronage of H.E. President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, over the theme of Your Gate to Innovation and Trade.
