Army Forces arrested on Monday two gunmen belonging to the Mujahideen Shura Council in Sinai as suspects involved in the Rafah massacre of last month. A security source said that the second field army forces managed to arrest the two suspects, 18-year-old Adel and 28-year-old Mohamed, after a raid carried out by the Special Forces on their hiding place in the village of Gura, south Sheikh Zuwayed in North Sinai. On 19 August, 25 Central Security recruits were killed in a brutal crime that took place on Arish-Rafah Highroad. The 25 soldiers were heading to a security camp riding two vehicles when they were stopped by attackers and ordered to get down from the vehicles and were shot, execution style. The two men are suspected to be involved in the massacre as they are accused of monitoring and tracking the targeted soldiers in Arish and Rafah, in addition to attacking checkpoints and police stations with automatic weapons and grenades, the source added. The suspects are also accused of participating in erecting missiles in the Agra village in southern Rafah that shelled an Egyptian Apache aircraft. Security forces then killed four of the terrorist attackers as the rest fled. On the security side, Two Army Forces Apaches bombed on Tuesday morning some areas in the villages of Moqataa and Toma in Sheikh Zuwayed as part of the ongoing operations aiming to track down gunmen who took part in the security forces attack last month. Eyewitnesses confirmed the bombing of Moqataa village where armed elements reside. Official sources have yet to explain the reasons and goals of the bombing.
